It's Just That Simple => A~S~K

"When we seek to promote ourselves or when we ask God to make our plans successful, we will not always hear what we want to hear in response.

However, when we ask him for guidance according to what is on His heart and when we ask how we can adjust our plans to His plans, the Bible says we will hear from Him clearly."

1. ASK: It's Just That Simple

In our last study, Quest, we discussed the infamous three-letter word: ASK, Ask, Seek and Knock (Luke 11:9-10). However, how do you prepare to hear from God? If we typically position ourselves to Ask, do we position ourselves to listen and hear? I'll repeat that line again...

When you position yourself to ASK,

do you also position yourself to listen?

A.W. Tozer once stated that "God will speak to the hearts of those who prepare themselves to hear; and conversely, those who do not so prepare themselves will hear nothing even though the Word of God is falling upon their outer ears every Sunday."

Did you notice the highlighted word? PREPARE

Prepare? Position? When we A-S-K, it's twofold (asking for God's guidance) AND (asking to yield and surrender to His will).

Revelation 1:8 (AMPC)

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord God, He Who is and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty (the Ruler of all).

Revelation 22:13 (AMPC)

Listen to Me, O Jacob, and Israel, My called [ones]: I am He; I am the First, I also am the Last.

God is our everything; the first and the last. If we want to hear from God, when we ASK, we must also be prepared to listen.

Oh, princesses of faith...remember

Prayerempowers and ‘charges up’ every other piece so they can be used effectively against the enemy. Without prayer… your armor, cannot, will not, be infused with the power that only God’s-Spirit can give."

Closing Thoughts-

Know that through the Holy Spirit you can:

· do things you couldn't;

· feel things you didn't; and

· know things you wouldn't.
