Ephesians 6:18 tells us that¬†praying¬†at all times¬†in the Spirit, will infuse the armor and through the Holy Spirit we will be given the strength we need to be the ambassadors (the warrior princesses) to fulfill our ministry He has called us to for this time; this season1. Walking-- A Journey¬†and¬†A Quest¬†Hmm... where to begin...I don't want to give a spoiler alert, but this Fall's study is all about walking! ¬†In fact, it's about our walk with Christ. ¬†Interesting sidenote about walking and Psalm 119,¬†this week our Week 35 Prayer, has a direct connection to, you¬†guessed¬†it, "walking". ¬†Before we jump fully into Psalm 119, take a look at some interesting facts about this psalm:a. Psalm 119-Psalm 119:89 is a popular Nigerian praise songthe longest psalm in the book of Psalmsingle longest chapter in the Biblecomprised of 22 sections (stanzas) and 176 versestakes about 15 minutes to read or recitethe actual author of Psalm 119 is unknownreferences to walking and seeing God (see below)In addition, there are a couple of verses in Psalm 119 that are directly on point. Verse 1 and 2Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk¬†in the law of the Lord!Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart, Verse 105Your word is a lamp for¬†my feetand a light on¬†my path. Verse 133Make¬†my steps steady¬†through Your promise;don‚Äôt let any sin dominate me. ¬†Verse 176I wander¬†like a lost sheep; seek Your servant,¬†for I do not forget Your commands Well, what do you think? ¬†Very interesting, right? Framed throughout 119 are specific references to our walk with God. In fact, these specific verses speak to "the why" behind our walk. Please stay with me for just a few more examples as last week's definition of "quest" will pull this all together. b. Walking-Last week, the definition of "quest" was provided, take a look for your reference:¬†(noun)-¬†a long¬†or arduous search for something; (verb)-¬†search for something.Normally when we walk, we are walking for a purpose (to get somewhere, to exercise, to maintain a positive outlook; to feel/look younger, to...(you fill in the blank). The point is that when we are walking, there is a purpose in mind. ¬†Similarly, our relationship with Christ is also a walk (a journey); a right foot/left foot process. ¬†A walk that has a purpose. ¬†A quest:To become a woman after God's own heart; To love Him with our whole heart; To follow his laws;To trust in His promises; To take Him at His word;To become the women (the princesses) He created us to be.After all, we were created to bring Him glory!¬† 2. 40 Week Prayer Challenge¬†(content for the reading plan is taken from Redeemed by Angela Thomas-Pharr;¬†adapted for GO! and¬†courtesy of LifeWay Women, 40 Days of Prayer 2017);In 1 Thessalonians 5:17 we are called to "pray without ceasing". ¬†Here's your¬†Week 35¬†Scripture for meditation and prayer...¬†Ready?Week 35 - ¬†Walking in God's LawStep 1,¬†Read Psalm¬†119Step 2,¬†Read the Prayer for You below Father, I am so grateful to be overwhelmed by Your grace. Wherever this precious soul sits right now, will You pour out Your grace to overflowing? Will You comfort her, hold her, help her, restore her, redeem her? Will You tell her that sometimes cooperating means giving up on her own way, so she can trust Your way? May she rest in the gift of Your grace upon grace, Amen.Step 3, Take a few moments to quiet yourself and Pour Out, Pour In and Pour Forth-¬†PRAYOh, princesses of faith...remember¬† Prayer¬†‚Äúempowers and ‚Äėcharges up‚Äô every other piece so they can be used effectively against the enemy.¬† Without prayer‚Ķ ¬†your armor, cannot, will not, be infused with the power that only God‚Äôs-Spirit can give." Closing Thought- Know that through the Holy Spirit¬†you can:do¬†things you couldn't;feel¬†things you didn't; andknow¬†things you wouldn't.NEW GO! PLAYLIST....For your praise and worship:GO! 9/18/17-¬†New feature, contains a playlist of songs and Books of the Bible (from Bible Project) for your praise and worship time.Housekeeping: The Quest- Study Journal (An Excursion Toward Intimacy with God)Registration¬† (Face-to-face- next meeting on September 26; September 19 (online)- THIS WEEK)Remember, each day is an opportunity for us to...Lead, Serve and GO! Each day we have an opportunity to be the light and salt God has called us to be to others.¬† ¬† Matthew 5:13-16 (NIV)
