Let's Pray... Week 38 - Prayer - A Great Time to LISTEN!

Ephesians 6:18 tells us that praying at all times in the Spirit, will infuse the armor and through the Holy Spirit we will be given the strength we need to be the ambassadors (the warrior princesses) to fulfill our ministry He has called us to for this time; this season

1. For you today, tomorrow, the next day and all other tomorrows~

Last week we talked about the relationship and a key function to all relationships... LISTENING

This week, let's discuss prayer. Our intimate time with God, a time that we can pour out (A-S-K), He can pour in (listen) and we can pour forth (obey).

Eugene H. Peterson, author, creator, translator, and winner of the Gold Medallion Book Award for The Message (MSG): The Bible In Contemporary Language sums it up best...

Presumptuous prayer speaks to God without first listening to him. It obsessively anxiously, or pretentiously multiplies human words to God, but with, at best, a distracted, indifferent, or fitful interest in God's words to us. But God speaks to us before we speak to him. If we pray without listening, we pray out of context.

So dear princesses, the next time you prepare to pray, clear your mind of the distractions, take a deep breath, listen and pray.

2. 40 Week Prayer Challenge (content for the reading plan is taken from Redeemed by Angela Thomas-Pharr; adapted for GO! and courtesy of LifeWay Women, 40 Days of Prayer 2017);

In 1 Thessalonians 5:17 we are called to "pray without ceasing".  Here's your Week 38 Scripture for meditation and prayer... Ready?

Week 38 -   L-I-S-T-E-N

Step 1, Read Psalm 136-139

Step 2, Read the Prayer for You below

Father, may Your grace to us be Your praise. May Your forgiveness make Your name great. Will You send this one on Your mission? Remind her You’re always with her. For Your praise and Your glory, Amen, and Amen.

Step 3, Take a few moments to quiet yourself and Pour Out, Pour In and Pour Forth- PRAY

Oh, princesses of faith...remember

Prayer “empowers and ‘charges up’ every other piece so they can be used effectively against the enemy.  Without prayer…  your armor, cannot, will not, be infused with the power that only God’s-Spirit can give."
