Victorious Living

March 7, 2016

Good Morning Princesses!

VICTORIOUS LIVING

Did you have a chance to pray last week, following the steps listed? If not, give it a try. If you have, send me note, I would love to hear from you.

Prayer Request-

This week I ask for your prayers for our upcoming Session 3, The Full Armor. This session will push our roots even further into the ground as we continue to grow in our relationship with our Father, our Abba. This session will test us as our prior sessions did, but we have a great inheritance and the path that Christ has called us to walk requires that we rely on Him and not ourselves. As it states in Psalms 28:7, “The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.”

Something New-

This week we will also take a different direction from the past Monday messages. Something new, but I hope you will be blessed in this short study. Here it goes… we are going to complete a short online devotional together this week. Part of the devotional will help prepare us for next week, the start of Session 3 and it will also continue to reinforce our conversations about the power of the Holy Spirit.

Living Beyond…the Holy Spirit

1. Read Acts 1:1-8 (NIV)

Jesus Taken Up Into Heaven

In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”

He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

2. Answer the following questions…If you would like to list them on the GO! to form, feel free to complete the form and I will contact you to follow-up.

3. Read Ephesians 1:18-19 (NIV)

18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength.

4. Closing Prayer

Thank you Lord for your gift, the Holy Spirit. Lord, help me not to settle with my own strength, it’s exhausting. Lord, remind me that real strength, my strength, can only come from you. Help me to pause each day to reflect on your power and glory. Rest in me. Lord guide my actions, so that I can I do things I couldn’t do, support my feeling so that feel things I would never feel and direct my thoughts so I can know things I would never know.

Let me each day, pour out so that you can pour in and lead me as I pour forth in your name.

In your awesome name- all power, glory and honor belongs to you oh Lord, my God. Amen

Know that through the Holy Spirit you can:

•    do things you couldn't;

•    feel things you didn't; and

•    know things you wouldn't.

For your praise and worship (I recommend playing the first song each morning.  It certainly will get your day started off right!):
