Good Morning Princesses!

GO! Bible Studies Are Underway!

The Patriarchs- Week 1 Recap

" In the beginning Elohim created heaven and earth."

Genesis 1:1

For those of you just joining us, welcome to GO! We just started our new Bible Study season where we will be studying the Patriarchs, Genesis Chapters 12-50. Currently, we are reading Genesis Chapters 12-14. In preliminary discussions about this new study, one concept became abundantly clear, the foundation of our Christian walk. You see, in order to understand this life's journey, we must understand our foundation. Over the course of this study we will do just that. But first princesses, we must start with two words, "The Name".

1. Ha-Shem ~ (Hebrew for "The Name")

From the first mention, the nature of God's power is amazing and indescribable. During the time of the Israelites, names not only reflected family relationships, but they were distinctly personal. In Genesis Chapter 12 we quickly see that our God is a God many names. Power, exaltation, reverence, care, protection, freedom, closeness, faithfulness, love. So, why is understanding God's name important to you and me? Well, it's a love thing. After all, scripture tells us that we are created in God's image (Genesis 1:26-27).

Yes, the one and only, uncontested, God of Creation seeks us out because He loves us and desires to have a relationship with us. Take a moment and let that sink in. In fact, let's review the statement again....

Yes, the one and only, uncontested, God of Creation loves us and desires to have a relationship with us. That's you and me. Truly an amazing and indescribable love.

As we journey further into Genesis Chapters 12 -50, we will begin to encounter Ha-Shem "The Name". To assist with learning the many names of our heavenly Father that will be referenced, take a look this week at the Names of God listed below. We will continue to refer to this list. My prayer is that as we make this journey together, asking, seeking and knocking, that we will encounter our gracious God of Most High every step of the way. As heirs of Abraham and most importantly daughters of the Most High, we are blessed and have a great name. Thank you Yahweh for your love, our name, and our blessing. You are amazing God.

Yahweh said to Abram,

“Leave your land, your relatives, and your father’s home. Go to the land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation, I will bless you. I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you, I will curse. Through you every family on earth will be blessed.”

Genesis 12:1

Oh, princesses of faith...remember

Prayerempowers and ‘charges up’ every other piece so they can be used effectively against the enemy.  Without prayer…  your armor, cannot, will not, be infused with the power that only God’s-Spirit can give."

Closing Thoughts-

Know that through the Holy Spirit you can:

  • do things you couldn't;

  • feel things you didn't; and

  • know things you wouldn't.
