Good Morning Princesses,

~ Merry Christmas and Happy New Year~

Short Recess

We will be taking a short recess to celebrate Christmas and the upcoming New Year! GO! Reports will resume on January 4, 2021.

Advent Weeks 3 and 4

This week starts the third week of Advent. Week 4 has also been added to this week's GO! Report.

Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love are all themes of the Advent season which point to one miraculous birth that changed the world. Immanuel ~"God With Us".

Notice the keyword listed in the meaning of Immanuel? Did you guess? It's the word "with".

According to Merriam-Webster's dictionary, the word "with" is considered a function word that is "used in participant to" or "to indicate the object of".

For example, "I went with her"; "I'll talk with her today". The function word "with" also serves as something greater.

Approximately 700 years before the virgin birth, the prophet Isaiah prophesized:

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14

Matthew cites from the prophecy of Isaiah in Matthew 1:20-24 and recognizes that Jesus Christ is the Messiah when he writes the following:

20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” 22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). 24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.

The birth of the Messiah and the meaning of His name brings together an indescribable truth that has existed before time, moving from generation to generation.

  • A truth of Adam and Eve. A truth of Noah.

  • A truth of Abraham. A truth carried with the children of Israel and by King David.

  • A truth believed by the disciples and shared with others.

  • A truth that we, as children of the Almighty now carry and through our faith, testimony, and discipleship.

Our truth you ask?

God IS with us. He has been with us always. His existence with us is outside of time and space. It is eternal. (Matthew 28:20; Hebrews 13:5)

Not only is Immanuel (Jesus) with us, but God is in us. As believers, we have the Holy Spirit, God's breath life (ruah) living, dwelling within us.

Then the Spirit of the Lord came on me, and he told me to say... (Ezekiel 11:5)
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God.(1 John 4:15)
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)
What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” (2 Corinthians 6:16)

Continuing With Ezekiel 23-24

In Chapters 23-24 we conclude with the fourth dated message from Ezekiel and judgment on Judah. Two key verses come to mind that connects the Old Testament prophecy of Isaiah with the New Testament writings of Matthew and and promises of Jesus:

"God with us" and "God in us"

Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God. (Ezekiel 11:20)
Then the people of Israel will no longer stray from me, nor will they defile themselves anymore with all their sins. They will be my people, and I will be their God, declares the Sovereign Lord.’” (Ezekiel 14:11)

Remember God is with us AND in us.
Thank you Lord for this time and season of rememberance.
Amen. Yes, Lord.

Prayerempowers and ‘charges up’ every other piece so they can be used effectively against the enemy.  Without prayer…  your armor, cannot, will not, be infused with the power that only God’s - Spirit can give."
